  • Leadership Retreat

I've been awake since 5am.  I'm just excited about the day to begin.

Sharing my reflections about the leadership retreat yesterday at CPC.  The theme was about "Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Leader".

    ha-bit

              1.  an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary
              2.  customary manner or practice
              3.  Root:  to dwell in

    sanc-ti-fy
    -verb
              1.  to make holy; set apart as sacred; consecrate
              2.  to purify or free from sin
              3.  to entitle to reverence or respect

    Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

First act of worship is to offer myself as a living sacrifice.  Second act of worship is unconformity to the things that are worldly.  The result is transformation, a radical one.  Newness.

Discipline myself in the habit of godliness.

    Spiritual Habits:

    1.  Prayer

    2.  Devotion

    3.  Worship

    4.  Reading the Word

    5.  Fellowship

I offer myself to be led by Jesus Christ, and to live by the Holy Spirit.  I am to be led by the Lord Jesus Christ before I can lead others spiritually.  I'm flawed, but praise the Lord for He is perfect!  His grace is sufficient, and His will is for me to experience newness of life in Christ Jesus.  The process of being transformed is a difficult process, but something to look forward to!

...so let's get the day started...

Everyone have a blessed time of worship today!
